ePuffer are a global brand that has headquarters in the UK, and have been around pretty much since vaping first came to these shores!
They have a wide portfolio of different products, from refillable pod systems through to e-pipes, e-cigs and their own ranges of e-liquid, which have picked up multiple industry awards.
We’ve reviewed a number of their products over the years, the Epuffer Xpod, the Snaps beginner kit and the last one being the Shift Pod Kit back in 2023…
What Can We Expect From The ePuffer Robusto Rechargeable eCigar?
ePuffer used to offer a range of popular disposable eCigars, however with the disposable vape ban in the UK, they adapted the technology to come up with their Robusto Rechargeable eCigar!
This one-of-a-kind kit originally launched in December last year, and generated unprecedented demand causing the initial run to sell out in record time, with a limited batch now available for purchase and a full scale production run planned before Christmas this year.
Manufactured from aircraft-grade aluminium with a specially applied textured finish, the ePuffer Robusto Rechargeable eCigar is an exceptionally light yet strong device that has been designed to mimic the look and feel of an actual cigar, delivering both durability and elegance.

It’s not often that the packaging really makes me take a step back and say ‘wow’, but I definitely did here- the ePuffer Robusto Rechargeable eCigar comes in a cigar box-styled presentation box, which I felt really sets the scene for the whole experience.

Design & Build Quality
I’m just straight up going to say that the ePuffer Robusto Rechargeable eCigar is as close to the look and feel of an actual cigar as you are going to get in vape form!
It measures 126.7mm x 22.5mm, with a ring gauge of 50.
Build quality is absolutely top class, with the device being manufactured from aerospace grade aluminium, and accented with a limited-edition micro-plated rose gold tone metallic ring.
You might be wondering what the ring gauge means if you are new to this, and this refers to the thickness of a cigar- with a ring gauge of 50 that makes it almost 2cm thick, putting it in the realm of an actual Robusto or Presidente cigar.
That makes the ePuffer Robusto eCigar a proper thick and chunky one, and this becomes immediately apparent to me when I take a puff on it.
This has a much larger mouthpiece than what I have become accustomed to with refillable pod systems, and although I used to fairly frequently enjoy a cigar I’ve not had one for over 10 years, so this took a bit of adjusting to!
With the design of the mouthpiece, it has a comfortable soft touch to it, which is like how some larger cigars feel once you’ve had a couple of puffs on them.
There’s a large bore hole for vapour to travel through, and it feels like it is set up to hit the back of your throat like the real thing does.
The foot of the cigar lights up a reddish colour when you take a puff, with a burnt-ash finish too, and appearance-wise it mimics a lit cigar.
When I took this out with me, one of my friends thought I was puffing on a real cigar from a distance!
All in all, ePuffer have done a phenomenal job at recreating the look and style of a cigar, I’ve certainly not vaped anything close to this in the past!
Quick Start Guide
There’s a couple of options here when it comes to the pods. You have the choice of pre-filled pods, which are sold separately in packs of three, or the blank refillable pods, of which you get three included in the kit.
You can fill these with any e-liquid of your choosing, however I would highly recommend using cigar flavoured e-liquid for the true authentic experience, and ePuffer have a couple of great ones on their website with the Robusto and Havana flavours!
How to Fill the Blank Refillable Pod
To fill the pod:
- Remove the silicone plug at the base of the pod to expose the filling port.
- Then, fill the pod with an e-liquid of your choosing and replace the silicone plug.
Simple hey!
Before you vape, be sure to let the e-liquid sit in the pod for 7-10 minutes to allow the cotton in the atomiser to fully absorb the e-liquid, which will protect against dry hits and prolong the lifespan of your pod.
Charging
I did immediately notice that a Type-C charging port is not present on the device itself, instead you have a separate small pod that attaches to the top of the device and features a charging port.
Once you have attached that, connect the charging cable to a wall charger or a computer and the LED at the foot of the Robusto Rechargeable eCigar will light up.
A full charge can take up to an hour depending on what you’ve hooked the charging cable up to, so thankfully you have a second device in the kit that you can vape on whilst you wait!
Just be careful not to lose the charging pod otherwise you won’t be able to charge your device!
Performance and Flavours
Each of the pods has a 1.6ohm mesh coil, and these are set up to deliver a mouth-to-lung vape.
Now, the vape isn’t quite like what a real cigar delivers, as you don’t inhale the real thing- rather you hold the smoke in your mouth for a few seconds to savour the flavours before exhaling it, rather than inhaling it into your lungs.
With the eCigar version, I found it best to inhale the vapour to get the most out of the flavour, with it being suited best to long, slow puffs to get the most out of it!
Havana Red Prefilled Pod
Havana Red has a very rich and deep smoky flavour to it, much like a traditional cigar flavour.
The smokiness of the flavour comes out more the longer I draw on it, which also increases and enhances the throat hit.
Speaking of throat hit, when I am vaping a cigar flavour a good throat hit is an absolute must for me and Havana Red has a pleasing throat hit even with the nicotine salt formulation!
With the Havana Red pod, I managed a good 332 slow and deep puffs before I finished the pod off.
Havana Gold Prefilled Pod
Havana Gold is more of a lighter cigar vape, there’s still an earthy smokiness to it but there’s also a thick caramel/honey type texture that blends in phenomenally with the cigar tobacco flavour.
It has a real sweet, syrupy texture to it that I found incredibly moreish, though this does take some of the edge off of the throat hit. If you prefer a milder cigar/tobacco flavour, this is the one for you.
I’m normally a fan of the more traditional cigar flavours but I actually preferred this to the Havana Red!
I got 341 puffs from the Havana Gold prefilled pod- quite consistent with the Havana Red one!
Blank Refillable Pods
With the Robusto Rechargeable eCigar kit, you get three refillable pods, also called blanks. Much like the prefilled pods, these have a 1.6ohm mesh coil in them.
These vape much the same as the prefilled pods, with an identical draw and the same level of pleasing vapour production.
ePuffer also sent me their Robusto Cigar e-liquid to try out, which features a bold cigar taste with an undertone of sweetness, and a tasty dark chocolate type finish to the blend.
Throat hit is pretty decent too I must say!
With the first refillable pod that I used, I was on my fourth refill on the pod before it started to have a burnt taste, and I only used the supplied ePuffer Robusto e-liquid and a naturally extracted tobacco cigar flavour, which can be very heavy on coils.
Battery Life
So, there’s a 650mAh battery built into the actual device, and the ePuffer Robusto eCigar isn’t designed to be an all day vaping device!
I would wager that the type of person who would purchase one of these kits isn’t going to be walking around vaping it all day.
This is for relaxing and savouring, I have definitely enjoyed kicking back with a nice glass of whisky in an evening and having a puff on this eCigar. And for that type of usage, the 650mAh battery is perfect.
Plus, there are two devices in the kit, so you can vape one whilst the other is charging, or have two different flavours on the go.
Pros

- Taste is not far off too, superbly blended cigar flavours
- Great, authentic throat hit too

- Charging port comes on a separate pod and could easily get lost!
- Pricey kit, definitely one for the cigar aficionados
Final Verdict
With the ePuffer Robusto Rechargeable eCigar, I have to say that the whole experience here is a high end one.
From the impressive cigar box-styled presentation box right down to the attention to detail on the design of the device.
When it comes to the design of the Robusto eCigar, I’m giving ePuffer maximum points here. The attention to detail is second to none, with this kit not only looking almost identical to an actual cigar, but providing the taste of one too!
ePuffer have done a phenomenal job blending the flavours that I got to try out, with some incredibly authentic tasting flavours that provide a cigar flavoured vape like no other on the market.
Yes, this is a pricey bit of kit, but a single proper Cuban cigar can cost upwards of what this kit costs- plus the ePuffer Robusto Rechargeable eCigar can be reused over and over again, unlike an actual cigar!
Plus, for the initial outlay, you do get two devices and three refillable pods to start you off!
If you are craving an authentic high end cigar flavour in vape format then you can’t really do much better than this, the experience is unmatched!
