Voopoo’s Argus range of pod systems is one of the most well established and recognisable in the industry, and we have the latest one in for review with the Argus P3!
2025 sees Voopoo celebrating their 8th anniversary, and in those eight years they have continued to go from strength to strength, picking up countless industry awards along the way and becoming one of the largest names in the vaping world!
As part of their 8th anniversary celebrations, Voopoo have undergone a brand refresh and as part of that, they have released a slew of new devices such as the Argus G3, Voopoo Drag S3 and X3, Vinci E80 and the Argus Klyc!
What Can We Expect From The Voopoo Argus P3?
As the name may suggest, this is the successor to the Voopoo Argus P2, which is a pod system we gave high praise to in our review last year, describing it as a great looking, powerful device that delivers excellent flavour!
So, the Argus P3 looks to build on the P2, aiming to deliver even better performance inside a small form factor refillable pod system, and it is Voopoo’s first full-touch mini box design pod system…
One of the key new additions with the P3 is the dazzling large, dual-curved full display touch screen, offering true touch functionality across it’s impressively large 2.01″ high definition display.
It is vaping industry’s largest TFT touchscreen, with the 240*296 resolution offering ultra smooth, HD clarity with a single touch. It also packs in 18 different clock faces that can be displayed on-screen too!
The Argus P3 might be small, but it packs a punch, with a 1500mAh built in battery and an output range of 5-30W. 5V/2A super charging will charge your device back up in as little as 40 minutes!
With DIY power tuning, you can also finely craft your own flavour profile, dynamically adjusting the vaping wattage within 5 seconds of your puff with precision down to 0.2 second intervals, fine tuning your vape to your preferences.
New top-filled 2ml Argus Snap Cartridges have been developed for the Argus P3, with a snap-off cap for easy top filling and enhanced flavour powered by Voopoo’s iCOSM CODE 2.0 technology!
iCOSM CODE technology provides a Liquid-Seal Shield for 30 days worth of clean vaping, a Mega Core coil for smooth vaping satisfaction and Golden Cotton which can withstand temperatures of up to 260C and endure 100ml worth of refills.
Of course, given the name, this is part of the Argus family and as such has compatibility with other Argus pods!
Style is everything with the Argus P3, as the small and sleek device combines two stylish textures- luxuriously soft leather and bold metallic, and it offers multiple colour choices to suit your own style.
Many thanks to Voopoo for sending the Argus P3 over for review, let’s check out what it has to offer!
As always, all views are my own…

Design & Build Quality
It’s hard not to start this section off without first focusing on the impressive touch screen, especially as this is one of the key features of the device and it takes up one whole side of it!
This really is glorious to look at, the size, colour and contrast make this one of the best screens that I have come across on a pod system to date.
The touchscreen functionality works exactly as intended, with inputs registered immediately and correctly.
In terms of the body of the device, this is much smaller than I expected it to be, measuring in at 51.35mm x 20.7mm x 60.7mm and having a weight of only 82g, making this a lightweight and pocket friendly little device.
The zinc alloy construction feels solid, and although this is a small and light device it is a robust one too, able to withstand day to day use easily.
There’s a lanyard notch located on top of the device, so if you like to keep your vaping device on a lanyard then you are catered to here, there’s also a power button located on the side which is also used as a multifunctional button.
In total, there are seven different finishes available, with all bar one featuring zinc alloy construction with premium leather touches.
Black, Brown Leather, Black Leather, Blue Leather, Red Leather, Grey Leather and Silver Leather versions can be purchased.
Quick Start Guide
How to Fill the Pod
Due to the design of the Argus Snap Cartridge, you can actually refill it without needing to remove it from the device.
Snap off the mouthpiece and you’ll see there are two holes on the top of the pod, opt for the larger one with the red bung here and pop the nozzle of your e-liquid bottle into it.
Fill the pod up to the brim, and if you are filling a fresh pod for the first time, let the e-liquid sit in the pod for five minutes before you vape, which allows the cotton in the coil to fully absorb it.
This reduces the chance of dry hits happening and prolongs the lifespan of the pod.
Operation
To turn the Argus P3 on and off, click the function button 5 times in under 2 seconds. It has auto draw functionality, so to vape just take a draw on the mouthpiece of the Argus Snap Cartridge.
Unlocking the device is done by swiping upwards from the base of the screen, from here you can swipe left on the screen and adjust the output power by tapping on the wattage.
Swiping right takes you to some very detailed information about your vaping habits, showing you how many puffs you have had that day, by swiping downwards you can check out a graph of your puffs over the previous 7 days and even the last 6 months!
Swiping upwards on the home screen brings up the ability to change the displayed animation, display timeout, set the time, language, clear the puff count records, display device information and turn the device off.
There’s also a ‘Light Lab’ option, which has a ‘Party’ mode which will make multiple different colours flash up on screen!
Great if you are at a rave I suppose! ‘SOS’ mode is also found here, which flashes an SOS light sequence.
If you swipe down on the home-screen some quick access options are available, you can adjust the screen brightness, switch Eco mode on to save battery, turn the vaping animations on or off or turn the screen off altogether.
There’s also a DIY output option, selecting this allows you to set wattage curve presets for your draw, so if you really want to fine tune your vape you have the ability to do this with the Argus P3.
For safety, there is also a child lock function, to activate this quick press the function button three times in one second.
When you turn the device on, and wake the screen up with the function button, by default you will be greeted with a large, old-style watch face to begin with.
Now, although the Argus P3 has 18 clock faces to choose from, 14 of them are initially locked and you need to hit a certain amount of puffs to unlock them, with the last one only unlocking after you have hit 6000 puffs on the device…
This is the same as what I encountered on the Voopoo Vinci E120, another Voopoo clock/vape, and I wasn’t impressed with having to puff to unlock watch faces back then.. Though the device itself is actually excellent!
I certainly wouldn’t encourage people to vape excessively to unlock a watch face, that is for sure!
Charging
You get a Type-C cable included in the box, which can be used to charge the Voopoo Argus P3. It can also be used to download firmware upgrades from Voopoo’s website too.
5V/2A fast charging is supported, so by using a suitable power output the Argus P3 can be fully charged in under 40 minutes. Charging percentage is displayed on the device, allowing you to see charging status in real time.
Safety Features
- Child lock
- 8 second vaping overtime protection
- Short-circuit protection
- Overcharge protection
- Output over-current protection
- Low battery protection
- Over temperature protection
- Max power protection
How Does The Voopoo Argus P3 Perform?
This might be a small vape mod, but it definitely packs a punch, as the Voopoo Argus P3 packs an output power range of 5-30W, meaning that it can easily cater to both mouth to lung and restricted direct to lung vaping.
If you don’t fancy messing about with power settings, the chipset will read the resistance of your cartridge and suggest an optimal power output for it, meaning that the Argus P3 can be a plug and play option if you wish.
Though, if you do really want to get into the nitty gritty of how your Argus P3 vapes, you can set custom power outputs, which involves customising the first five seconds of your puff. You can save three of these as presets too, and switch between them.
Ramp up time is virtually instantaneous, as soon as I take a draw on this the coil heats up pretty much immediately!
Flavour
I have always come away impressed with the flavour I get from Voopoo’s pods and the Argus Snap Cartridge definitely delivers on that front!
With the 0.4ohm cartridge, I get a vape that is much better suited to a restricted lung hit, and it excels at the 28-30W mark with a rich, warm vape that is absolutely jam packed with flavour!
The 0.7ohm cartridge is no slouch either, this one is better suited to a tighter draw, and there’s loads of lovely, concentrated flavour present in every puff, with a slightly cooler experience.
Pod Lifespan
Certainly over the past couple of years, Voopoo have developed a reputation for developing pods that have great lifespans, and they have used that expertise with the new Argus Snap Cartridge.
I got a solid week of pretty heavy use out of both of mine, which is the mark of a great pod in my book.
Airflow
A sliding step-less airflow control is located on the side of the Argus P3, which is easy to operate with my thumb and very smooth to slide.
The airflow options range from a tight mouth to lung vape with the airflow closed right down, to an airy restricted lung hit with it opened up.
Clouds are quite plentiful too, with an impressive level of vapour produced with the airflow opened up along with the wattage!
Battery Life
There’s a 1500mAh battery built in, and it ticks the boxes for all day battery life even when running the Argus P3 at the higher end of the wattage range with one of the lower resistance Argus Snap Cartridges.
By lowering the wattage, and using a higher resistance cartridge, you can get a good couple of days worth of vaping, making this device an ideal discreet workhorse for MTL vapers.
Pros
- Superb flavour delivery
- Responsive and clear touch screen
- Can be refilled without having to remove the pod
- Lots of power for a small form factor device
- All day battery life
- RDL and MTL vaping
- Accessible, easy to use pod system
- Adjustable airflow and wattage
Cons
- Need to remove the pod to see the exact juice level
- Location of the airflow control makes it easy to accidentally cover up when holding the device.
- Majority of the clock faces are locked behind certain puff count levels and not immediately accessible
Final Verdict
For such a small device, I was quite amazed at just how feature rich the Voopoo Argus P3 is.
There’s a wealth of different customisation options to be found here, from changing the look of your device, to the adjustable airflow and wattage, right through to even having the ability to fine tune how it vapes with the DIY Output option!
All these options needn’t be overwhelming for a beginner however, as you can just fill up a cartridge, chuck it in the device and vape away without even thinking about customising any options.
Its stealthy, pocket-friendly design makes it ideal for a discreet carry, but even though it is small you aren’t really losing out on any options offered by larger devices as Voopoo really have crammed a lot in here.
I do love a small and stealthy device and Voopoo’s Argus P3 hits all the right notes for me, they have really taken their Argus devices to a whole new level with the small but powerful Argus P3!
Many thanks to Voopoo for sending the Argus P3 in for review!
